Why a Brighton Hub Structure Plan?

Brighton Council, in partnership with Niche Planning Studio (Niche), is preparing a Structure Plan to guide the future growth and development of the Brighton Industrial Hub over the next 20 years, to 2046.

The Structure Plan is needed because there is currently no overarching framework to guide the Hub’s future growth and development, including the location and mix of industrial uses, subdivision staging, lot sizes, or the provision of infrastructure and services.

The Brighton Hub Structure Plan will provide a clear, long‑term framework for industrial development, land use and infrastructure provision. It will guide future land release and precinct expansion while safeguarding intermodal operations, environmental values, and ensuring development aligns with local, regional and state planning policies and strategies.

Council will engage with stakeholders and the community throughout the Structure Plan process. Feedback received will help shape the final Structure Plan, which will be presented to Council for endorsement.
